Gord Gillies, longtime co-anchor of Global News Hour at 6, will be shifting to the radio airwaves this August, replacing Bruce Kenyon as the morning news host on News Talk 770.
The Morning News with Gord Gillies will launch Monday, Aug. 14 on the station.
Corus Entertainment announced Kenyon’s retirement last week.
Gillies has spent more than 25 years at Global Calgary, which is also owned by Corus Entertainment.
Gillies began his journalism career as a copy boy at the Toronto Star in 1981 before working in a number of newsrooms across the country.
“I’ve re-commissioned the alarm clock and reintroduced myself to caffeine to get ready for this exciting new chapter,” he said.
A replacement for Gillies on Global News Hour at 6 has yet to be announced.
